Mil Mi-2

The Mil Mi-2 was designed in the USSR by the experimental bureau of M.I.Mil. Its first flight test was in 1961 thereafter production was transferred to the Polish factory of PZL-Swidnik. Series production began in 1965, and Swidnik has since built more than 5250 helicopters for various civil and military operators.

The majority of these aircraft have been exported to the air forces of Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Iraq, North Korea, Libya, Poland, Syria and the USSR.

The Mi-2 is a light multirole helicopter originally intended to fulfil transport, reconnaissance and communications roles.
